Thirty days. One short lesson and one usable template a day. A practice that finally works the way you meant it to.
We’ve got to get the tax right – we’re bookkeepers after all. Please use the button for where you are.
If you recognised yourself in any of that, you’re in very good company. And none of it is a failing on your part.
You trained to be a brilliant bookkeeper. You sat the exams, learned the software, know your debits from your credits.
What nobody taught you – and this is the gap holding thousands of bookkeepers back – is how to run a business.
How to price for your value rather than your time. How to attract the right clients and step away from the wrong ones without drama. How to market yourself without it feeling awkward. How to build systems that run without you at the centre of every single thing. How to think like a CEO when you’re working alone at the kitchen table.
Without that, even the most capable bookkeeper builds a practice that looks fine from outside and feels exhausting from inside. More hours than you wanted. Clients who undervalue you. An income that doesn’t reflect how hard you work.
And a persistent sense that there must be a better way of doing this.
There is. It starts on Day 1.
Most business courses fail for the same reason. You buy them in a burst of resolve, watch three lessons, and then a VAT return happens.
This is built the other way round.
Thirty to sixty minutes. Short enough to fit into a real week. Released daily, so there’s always a next thing and never a library staring at you.
Not a reflection or a journal entry – an actual completed template. Day 3 produces your P&L calculator. Day 14 your proposal process. Day 28 your CEO dashboard.
Each day builds on the one before, so nothing falls through the gaps and you’re never asked to decide something you haven’t got the information for yet.
And it’s for bookkeepers. Not general business advice with the word “bookkeeper” dropped in. Built by bookkeepers, from what actually works in this market.
You keep your access, so there’s no penalty for a week where life gets in the way. But the daily rhythm is the point, and it’s why people finish this one.
I’m Jo Wood. I built my own bookkeeping practice from scratch, around three children, from my kitchen table – and sold it in 2023 for a multi-six-figure sum.
I know exactly what it feels like to be good at the work and completely overwhelmed by the business, because I spent years there.
What I eventually worked out is that the thing holding most bookkeepers back was never technical knowledge. It was the absence of a clear, structured plan for turning the skill into a practice that’s profitable, sustainable and actually freeing.
So I built one.
Through The 6 Figure Bookkeeper and The Bookkeepers’ Collective I’ve helped hundreds of self-employed bookkeepers raise their prices, attract better clients, build proper systems and start behaving like the business owners they already were.
This programme is the distillation of all of it, taught in the order it needs to be learned, with the tools to implement from day one.
If you’ve ever wished someone would just tell you exactly what to do, and in what order – this is that.
Day 1. Your CEO mindset. The shift from self-employed bookkeeper to business owner, and why it changes everything downstream.
Day 2. Your exit strategy. Define what your practice needs to look like at its best, then build backwards from there.
Day 3. Your perfect P&L. Your revenue target, your client numbers, and your minimum viable fee.
Day 4. Your clients and capacity. Who your clients are, how many you can genuinely serve, and how to mix them for profit rather than volume.
Day 5. Your ideal day. What a day in your fully-built practice actually looks like. This is the freedom part, and it’s not decoration – it sets the constraints for everything else.
Day 6. Your ideal week. The weekly structure that protects your time and makes the business sustainable.
Day 7. Your simple business plan. One page, clear goals. The plan you’ll actually use rather than the one you write once and file.
Day 8. Your niche. Getting specific about who you serve, and why that focus grows a practice faster.
Day 9. Customer pain points. What your ideal clients wake up worrying about, and how you solve it.
Day 10. Your service offer. A service menu that’s professional, makes sense for you, and that clients say yes to.
Day 11. Your Gold Standard service. The flagship offer that delivers exceptional value and justifies a premium fee.
Day 12. Your app stack. Reviewing the software running your practice and making sure every tool earns its place.
Day 13. Client communication. The boundaries and standards that make you a joy to work with while protecting your time.
Day 14. Your proposal. The full sequence – covering email, proposal document, engagement letter, e-signature and payment.
Day 15. Your marketing. A simple, sustainable strategy that fits the way you actually want to work.
Day 16. Your discovery call. The structure for a call that converts and makes prospects want to work with you.
Day 17. Discovery call questions. The exact questions to ask, and how to listen for what really matters.
Day 18. Your pricing. Whether your pricing reflects your value, and the adjustments that are long overdue.
Day 19. Your letter of engagement. A watertight engagement letter that protects you and gives clients confidence.
Day 20. Your onboarding process. The experience that sets the tone for the entire client relationship.
Day 21. Your client delivery. Exactly how you deliver – consistently, professionally, at scale.
Day 22. Your repricing strategy. A proven process for raising fees with existing clients without losing them.
Day 23. Upselling your services. The opportunities already sitting inside your existing client base.
Day 24. Leveraging your software. Making your tech stack work harder so you work less.
Day 25. AI in your business. Where it saves you hours, and where it can’t replace your expertise.
Day 26. Your first hire. When and how to bring someone in, and a job description that attracts the right person.
Day 27. The CEO test. Step away for a day, then a week. See what breaks. Then fix it.
Day 28. Your CEO dashboard. The eleven numbers every bookkeeping business owner should be tracking.
Day 29. Your 90 day plan. Turning the vision into concrete targets for the next three months.
Day 30. Your next steps. Where you go from here.
Every lesson comes with a downloadable file you use in your business – Excel calculators, Word documents, planning tools, checklists. A sample of what you walk away holding:
This is the part that makes the difference. A course you watch changes how you think for about a week. A course that hands you a completed engagement letter, a costed service menu and a repricing script changes what your practice does.
including VAT, for UK customers
excluding VAT, for eligible customers outside the UK

One new client, properly priced on a monthly retainer – the kind you’ll know how to set after Day 18 – is worth £300, £500, sometimes £800 or more a month.
This pays for itself inside a month.
And if the repricing work on Day 22 lifts the fees of a single existing client, you’re ahead permanently rather than once.
The better question isn’t what this costs. It’s what not having this clarity is costing you now.
We’d rather you bought the right thing than the first thing, so here’s the honest map.
Start here if you want the whole picture. The Freedom Framework covers everything – mindset, money, services, clients, marketing, sales, systems, growth – at the level you need to build a plan and get moving. Thirty days, and you finish with a practice that’s been thought about properly.
Then go deeper on whatever is costing you most. Our other programmes take a single subject and go all the way in: the Live Pricing Series is eight live weeks on pricing alone. Selling Services is fourteen lessons on the sales conversation. Personal Brand Brilliance is thirty-three on marketing. AI for Bookkeepers is the full AI package.
Or The Bookkeepers’ Collective if what you want is the live version, with three calls a week, Jo and Zoe in the room, and several hundred bookkeepers working on the same things at the same time. £199 plus VAT a month on a twelve-month commitment.
This programme exists because plenty of people have watched our content for years, know roughly what they need to do, and have never had the structure to actually do it. Particularly overseas, where the live programme is harder to join.
If you want the quick start, start here. If you want the ongoing room, the Collective is the next step.
Every day has one specific output – a completed template, a filled-in plan, a document you’ll use. You’ll know you’ve done the day’s work because you’ll be holding something. Day 3 produces a P&L calculator. Day 14 produces a proposal process. Day 28 produces your CEO dashboard. No “reflect on this.”
It’s exactly the right place to start. Building on the right foundations from day one means avoiding the mistakes that cost established bookkeepers years and thousands of pounds to unpick. Start your practice after this and you start it right.
Almost certainly. Experienced bookkeepers tell us Days 4, 10, 15, 18, 22, 27, 28 and 29 unlock things they’d been putting off for years. One repriced client or one systemised process pays for it many times over.
You don’t have time not to. Every day without a pricing strategy, a proper onboarding process or a marketing plan is a day leaving money on the table and burning energy you haven’t got. Thirty to sixty minutes a day, released daily for momentum, no deadline if you fall behind.
Most of it – mindset, pricing, client communication, marketing, systems, hiring, growth – is universally applicable. Some content, particularly the letter of engagement and proposal sections, references UK practice and legislation, and you’ll need to adapt those locally. Use the international buy button so the tax is handled correctly.
No, they’re different products. This is self-study: one short video a day, at your pace, with a template every day. The Collective is a live ongoing membership with CPD, weekly sessions, direct feedback and a community that evolves with your business. Quick start here; ongoing support there.
This is a self-study programme, so there are no live calls or direct access included. You can ask questions in the community Facebook group alongside others going through it. If you want monthly live sessions with Jo and direct feedback, that’s what the Collective is for.
Jo has spent her whole career in this industry, building bookkeeping practices and learning the lessons she teaches here. None of it is borrowed from generic business coaching. If you want to see the approach before committing, there are years of free content on the 6 Figure Bookkeeper YouTube channel – you’ll know quickly whether it’s a fit.
The bookkeepers who build the practices they wanted, and the ones who don’t, are not separated by talent, experience or who they know.
They’re separated by deciding to learn the business side properly, and then taking it seriously enough to turn up for thirty days.
You’ve read this far, which tells you something.
Thirty lessons. Thirty templates. One payment. Day 1 starts whenever you press the button.
