  • What The Bookkeepers’ Collective actually is.
  • Exactly what you get inside – on-demand training, live calls and a supportive community.
  • How the numbers stack up so you can feel confident about the investment.
  • Whether it’s the right bookkeeper training and mentoring space for you – and what to do next.

If you’re thinking, “This is my time, but I can’t afford to get this wrong,” keep reading.

What Is The Bookkeepers’ Collective?

The Bookkeepers’ Collective is a training and community membership for bookkeepers and accountants who want a profitable, flexible practice that actually supports their life.

It was created by Jo Wood C.FICB PM.Dip MAAT and Zoe Whitman FCCA C.MICB MAAT both experienced practice owners and coaches. Jo grew her virtual bookkeeping firm to around £700k in sales in three years and sold it. Zoe’s a chartered accountant, author and accredited coach, and together they host The Bookkeepers’ Podcast and run a global community of 33k+ bookkeepers.

Inside The Collective you’re not just downloading templates. Instead, you’re getting:

  • A clear path from “busy and stuck” to “confident and in control”.
  • A whole community in your corner – from Jo and Zoe to the 6 Figure Bookkeepers’ team of ambassadors, plus your peers, who become your sounding board as you grow
  • CPD-accredited training so you can log your learning as you grow.

You can join us from anywhere in the world. The principles of pricing, positioning, systems and mindset apply whether you’re in the UK, North America, Australia or beyond. You might invoice in different currencies, but the business problems are the same.

Jo Wood and Zoe Whitman host bookkeeper training and community, The Bookkeepers' Collective.

Why The Right Training And Community Change Everything When You’re a Bookkeeper

When you’re a couple of years into business, things feel… odd.

You’re not a beginner. You have clients. You’re busy. Yet:

  • You’re undercharging and you know it.
  • You’re overworking and can’t see how to step back.
  • You’re second-guessing every decision and scrolling for answers at midnight.

This is where the right mix of business training, live support and community makes the difference.

The Bookkeepers’ Collective helps you:

  • See the gaps in your pricing, packages and systems.
  • Decide what to do this month instead of drowning in ideas.
  • Stay accountable so you actually implement instead of just consuming.

Members tell us that before they joined, they were “just muddling through” their pricing and structure. After working through our Foundations and Success Programme (just two CPD accredited elements of The Bookkeepers’ Collective), they completely rethought how they run things, repriced, and finally felt like they were running a business on purpose rather than guessing. (That’s exactly how Fanni described her experience.)

So if you’re asking, “Why do I need to join The Bookkeepers’ Collective?” the honest answer is this:
Because trying to fix undercharging, overwork and confidence alone is costing you far more than the membership.

The Training You Actually Get Inside The Bookkeepers’ Collective

Let’s get specific. This isn’t a vague “support group”. It’s a structured training environment designed for bookkeepers.

At the top level, you get access to seven collections of on-demand training plus 14+ hours of live support every month, wrapped in an exclusive members’ community.

The Seven On-Demand Bookkeeper Business Training Collections

All collections are available on demand, so you can work at your own pace and revisit them whenever you need a refresher. You’re never behind; you simply pick up where you left off.

Foundations Collection

The Foundations Collection is where we make sure your practice is built on something solid. You’ll find our CPD-accredited Bookkeepers’ Foundations training (around six hours), which walks through what bookkeepers actually do in practice and how to set your business up in the right way. Alongside that, you have planning workshops on demand that help you map out your next twelve months and your next ninety days in detail. As a result, you stop winging it and start running your business with intention, with a clear, realistic plan you can follow.

Growth Collection

The Growth Collection is your bookkeeper business roadmap in course form. It includes our CPD-accredited Success Programme (around thirty hours) plus focused trainings on how to offboard tricky clients without drama, how to improve your internal processes, and how to design services that actually support the life you want. You also get “inside Jo’s practice” style sessions and strategy sprints so you can see how a multi six-figure firm operated and then model what works in your own way. This is where you shift from “busy freelancer” to intentional business owner.

Pricing Collection

The Pricing Collection is where we tackle undercharging head-on. Inside, you’ll find our secret confidence audio series, Jo’s Journey to 6 Figures so you can see the numbers and decisions behind the growth, money mindset training, passive income training and a practical pricing spreadsheet that you can use to sense check your clients’ fees against hourly rate, transaction, fixed rate and industry standard pricing. You also have access to our Professional Pricing Programme, which teaches you the principles of commercial pricing and shows you exactly how to apply them to pricing bookkeeping services. This is the collection that helps members finally ditch hourly rates and move to value-based pricing with confidence.

Marketing Collection

The Marketing Collection is designed to make marketing feel simple and sustainable rather than awkward or overwhelming. You’ll get content training and access to montly done-for-you content, plus our Personal Brand Brilliance training so you build your reputation and get clients through word of mouth. There is support on using social media for business in a way that fits you, and training on using tools like ChatGPT and AI for content creation, along with content repurposing masterclasses so you’re not always starting from scratch.

Sales Collection

If the word “sales” makes you want to hide, the Sales Collection is for you. Here you’ll learn how to run relaxed, effective discovery calls that feel like helpful conversations rather than performances. You’ll see Jo’s actual sales process broken down step by step, and you’ll build your confidence with networking skills that work both online and in person. The collection also includes our deep Selling Services programme, which walks you through a complete sales journey so you can feel calm and in control from first enquiry to signed proposal. Over time, you start to see sales as an act of service, not something pushy or uncomfortable.

Expert Collection

The Expert Collection brings in specialists to help you think bigger about your business and your life. You’ll find sessions on bookkeeping software and apps, business tools, systems and growth, as well as trainings that support your health, mindset and resilience as a business owner. It’s the place you go when you want to sense-check a decision, get inspired by people further ahead, and make sure you’re building a practice that works for you in the long term.

AI Collection

The AI Collection helps you stay ahead of the curve with practical, business and bookkeeping-specific AI training. You’ll learn how to use tools like ChatGPT and other AI platforms to speed up tasks such as, process documentation, email drafting and client communication. There is training on using AI in and around your bookkeeping workflows, how to build automations with tools like Zapier plus support on how to engineer prompts for AI so you can get using AI straight away. There’s also a prompt bank of 113 business prompts which you can add to over time. This collection is about leveraging AI to create more impact, and more time for higher-value work – or simply more time for yourself. We’ll help you work smarter while staying relevant in a rapidly changing industry.

Together, these seven collections cover every part of running and growing a modern bookkeeping practice, from your very first foundations through to pricing, marketing, sales, AI and long-term growth.

Live Training, Calls and The Success Lounge

The training content you receive as a bookkeeper is only part of the story. You also get live group support and accountability.

Every month, you can join 14+ hours of live sessions with Jo, Zoe and our team. These include: mindset calls, marketing Q&A, sales support, technical and practice management Q&A, finances calls and more. Calls take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10am UK time. These sessions cover three fundamental areas.

Monday 10-11am – New Training. This will be a session that builds your knowledge of a specific area of bookkeeping or business. It could be pricing, systems, sales, marketing, software or mindset. We work with a currated little black book of contacts to make sure you have the latest information to build a successful business.

Wednesday 10-11am – Success Programme Live. The Success Programme is our flagship, 30 hour, CPD Accredited bookkeeper training programme. It’s the business training that will transform your practice in all areas and we want to support you with completing it. As well as the Success Programme being available on demand in The Growth Collection, we teach this programme live every week. It’s your opportunity to get support, accountability and practical help to implement the changes that will transform your business.

Friday 10-11:30am – Community Call. This is another opportunity for accountability and spending time working on your business rather than in it. Come to the session for support or simply a plan for the morning ahead, and you will co-work with your community throughout the morning.

Monday and Wednesday sessions are recorded and available on replay if you cannot join live.

These sessions are where the magic happens because you can:

  • Bring a real dilemma and leave with an actual plan.
  • Ask a technical question and stop worrying that you’ve missed something.
  • Learn from somebody who’s one step ahead of you, or share your wisdom with somebody who is just behind.

When you join, you also enter the Bookkeepers’ Collective Community, our space for Collective members. Ask questions, share wins and get support, any time of day.

A Global Community That “Gets It”

Entrepreneurship can feel lonely, especially if no-one in your real life understands what you do.

The Collective’s private community is full of bookkeepers and accountants across the world who are:

  • Dealing with the same tricky clients.
  • Navigating the same tech changes and AI tools.
  • Balancing business with family, health and life.

We also have ambassadors and a Member Success Coordinator whose whole job is to help you make progress and not get stuck.

As Hayleigh put it in her trustpilot review, you can turn up to a call with “a worry, a small idea, or something that feels like a big problem, and you walk away feeling calm and clear.” That’s what mentoring for accountants looks like in real life.

What Does It Cost – And Will I Really Make My Money Back?

Let’s talk about money, because that’s usually the sticking point.

The Bookkeepers’ Collective is currently £199 + VAT per month, with a 12-month minimum term, and we offer reduced renewal fees to reward loyalty as you remain a member beyond your initial term.

So, over a year, you’re investing roughly £2,388 + VAT.

There is also an option to pay in full and receive two months free, making the investment a nice round £1,990+VAT for the year (or £165.83+VAT per month if you’d rather see the maths like that).

Now compare that to even one small shift you could make with our help:

  • Suppose you bring on one new client at £250 per month.
    • That’s £3,000 per year in recurring revenue.
    • You’ve already more than covered the membership fee.
  • Or imagine you reprice 10 existing clients by an average of £75 per month.
    • That’s £750 per month extra.
    • Over a year, that’s £9,000 additional revenue for the same client list.

We regularly see members:

  • Move away from hourly rates to strategic packages.
  • Add higher-value services like advisory or Virtual FD work.
  • Achieve double digit turnover growth (10% or more) within their first 12 months, and often much more, simply by implementing what they learn.

Fiona said “The support from the community transformed my business in such a short space of time! In 3 months my revenue doubled and was 80% of the target I’d set myself for the end of the financial year.”

So when you ask, “Is the Bookkeepers’ Collective worth it?” the bigger question is: What is it costing you to keep undercharging, overworking and guessing?

Real Stories: How Members Use The Bookkeepers’ Collective Day To Day

You don’t just want glossy promises; you want proof. So let’s look at how real bookkeepers are using The Collective and the community as their bookkeeper mentor.

Hayleigh – Flexible Learning, Deep Support

Hayleigh loves that she can work through the sessions in her own time. She often watches replays while out on a walk or when life is busy. The live calls with our mindset coach Gill help her walk in with a worry and walk out with calm, clear, actionable steps.

When she submitted her business plan after completing the Success Programme, she received personalised video feedback from me. In her words, “That alone was worth joining.” She also dips into our AI trainings and expert sessions whenever she needs a boost.

Fanni – From “Muddling Through” To Confident CEO

Before joining, Fanni felt like she was muddling through her pricing and structure. She didn’t feel confident, and her practice lacked the systems it needed.

After working through Foundations and the Success Programme, she:

  • Repriced her services.
  • Organised her practice properly.
  • Started running her business with intention, not guesswork.

The biggest shift for her hasn’t only been money. She now feels like she knows where she’s heading and has the training and community support to back her decisions.

Louise – Continuous Evolution And Industry-Leading Support

Louise joined right at the start of The 6 Figure Bookkeeper and at the very start of her business. What’s stood out for her is the constant evolution of the programme.

We are always bringing in new trainings, ahead of trends like AI and changing regulations, and we’ve never stopped supporting the community. For her, The Bookkeepers’ Collective has been pivotal to the success of her business and remains a source of ongoing inspiration.

You’ll see similar stories throughout the Bookkeepers’ Collective, including Annabel, who used what she learned to grow Bluebells Bookkeeping to six figures, hire her husband and win national awards.

Who The Bookkeepers’ Collective Is For (And Who It’s Not For)

This membership isn’t for everyone. Let’s be honest about that, because good support is also about fit.

The Collective Is For You If…

  • You’re an established bookkeeper (or accountant doing bookkeeping) with clients already.
  • You feel stuck, undercharging or too busy, and you know something has to change.
  • You’re ready to be coachable – even when it means hearing some hard truths.
  • You want to work with people who understands the industry and won’t let you play small.
  • You’re happy to invest time each month to watch, implement and show up live when you can.

The Collective Is Not For You If…

  • You expect overnight results without changing how you work.
  • You want tax advice or technical training only (we do cover technical topics, but this is about your whole business).
  • You dislike community, coaching or feedback and prefer to stay completely solo.
  • You’re not ready to take responsibility for your pricing, boundaries and decisions.

If you know you’re capable of more and you’re tired of trying to work it out alone, you’re exactly who we created this for.

How To Get Started: Your First 30 Days Inside The Collective

Here’s how it works in practice:

  1. Immediate Access
As soon as you join, you get instant access to all the on-demand collections. No waiting for a cohort to start or a live intake day.
  2. Find Your Starting Point
You’ll take a short quiz to work out whether you should begin with Foundations or Growth. You can still dip into Marketing, Sales, AI and Pricing whenever you need them.
  3. Join The Members’ Call
You’ll come to the next orientation call so we can welcome you, show you around and help you set priorities.
  4. Plug Into The Community
You’ll join our private online community, mark the live sessions in your calendar and start getting your questions answered in real time.
  5. Book A Free Strategy Call (Optional But Powerful)
If you want to talk through whether this is the right mentoring space for your goals, you can book a free strategy call. We’ll look at your practice, your pricing and your capacity, and we’ll be honest if The Collective isn’t the right fit.

You can also skip the call and join directly if you already know this is what you need. Either way, your next step is simple.

FAQ: The Bookkeepers’ Collective

How does The Bookkeepers’ Collective actually help my business?

For bookkeepers running small practices, we help you move from “busy bookkeeper” to “confident business owner”. Instead of guessing at pricing, systems or marketing, you bring your real situation to calls and get tailored advice, scripts and next steps.

Inside The Bookkeepers’ Collective, support happens through live Q&A sessions, mindset calls, strategy workshops and personalised feedback on your business plan.

Is The Bookkeepers’ Collective only for UK bookkeepers?

No. While Jo and Zoe are UK-based and we’ll often reference HMRC or UK events, the business principles we teach apply globally as essential training for bookkeepers. Members join us from all over the world.

We focus on pricing, positioning, systems, marketing, sales, confidence and leadership – all of which are relevant whether you’re dealing with VAT, GST or sales tax. When we do cover region-specific topics, you can adapt them to your own regulations or ask in the community for help from members in your country.

Is this just an online course?

It’s more than a standalone course, and that’s intentional.

You get structured, CPD-accredited courses in the seven collections, so you can build your business skills as a bookkeeper in a logical way. At the same time, you get live group support from Jo, Zoe, our Community Success Manager, our ambassadors and your peers through group calls and the community, so you’re never left to implement alone.`

Think of it as an ongoing bookkeeper business development programme with a library of training behind it.

Do I get any kind of bookkeeping certification?

We don’t certify you as a bookkeeper. That isn’t the purpose of this programme.

However, many of the trainings are CPD-accredited for bookkeepers, which means you can log the hours for your professional body, and the skills you develop in pricing, advisory and leadership are exactly what you’ll use to support your own clients in the future.

How quickly will I see results?

That depends on how quickly and effectively you implement, but changes you can expect to make a fast impact are:

  • Repricing existing clients and increasing your income.
  • Streamlining onboarding and winning back hours of time.
  • Landing new, better-fit clients after applying our marketing and sales frameworks.

We can’t promise instant transformation. However, we can give you the tools, training and accountability that have helped hundreds of bookkeepers grow revenue, ditch hourly rates and take proper holidays again.

What if I’m already in other memberships or have a coach?

That’s common. Many members join us alongside other communities or coaching relationships. The difference here is that we specialise in bookkeeping businesses and only train bookkeepers and accountants.

You’re learning from people who have practice experience, who work daily with the realities of bookkeeping software, AI and changing regulations. Every piece of training we write and deliver is built for a bookkeeper like you.

Your Action Plan: What To Do Next

If you’ve read this far, you’re probably ready to at least explore this properly. Here’s what we’d love you to do next:

  1. Be honest about where you’re stuck. Write down your three biggest challenges right now. As a bookkeeper, to build this business, where do you need training? Is it pricing, time, confidence, something else?
  2. Do the simple maths. Work out what one additional client or a modest price rise would add to your annual revenue. Compare that to £199 + VAT per month. Want to do some more advanced forecasting? You will find our 6 Figure Practice Planner helpful.
  3. Book your free strategy call. Bring your challenges and your numbers. We’ll talk through where you are, where you want to be and whether The Bookkeepers’ Collective is the right bridge.
  4. If you already know this is for you, join. Skip the overthinking. Join The Bookkeepers’ Collective, jump into the calls and start with Foundations or Growth.
  5. Commit to 90 days of focused action. Show up to calls, complete the key lessons and implement at least one change each month. Give yourself the opportunity you deserve.

This Is Your Time

If you’re feeling that mix of frustration and excitement, “I know I’m capable of more, but I’m tired of trying to figure this out alone”, you’re exactly who we built The Bookkeepers’ Collective for.

You don’t have to keep playing small, guessing at your pricing and watching other bookkeepers fly past you. You can have the training you need, a community of peers who become your sounding board, a clear plan and ongoing support behind you, so you move faster and stop leaving money and time on the table.

If you’re ready to step up, get the business training you really need as a bookkeeper and the community support, book a free strategy call. We’ll look at your practice together and help you decide if The Collective is the right next step. If it is, you’ll leave that call with a plan to recoup your investment.

And if you’re already thinking, “I should have joined ages ago,” you can also go straight to joining The Bookkeepers’ Collective and get immediate access to all of the training and support we offer to bookkeepers. Either way, this is your nudge. This is your time.
